Word-level transcription, editor, and MP4 burner
Upload a video to generate word-level subtitles in English or Hebrew, choosing between a free in-browser transcription or an enhanced cloud engine. The full-screen editor provides the video player, a complete timeline, and a formatting panel. Clicking any word opens timing and styling controls, with low-confidence words flagged for easy review. Customize fonts, placement, colors, word highlighting, active-word tracking, outlines, and animation styles. Export as SRT or VTT files, or burn subtitles directly into an MP4 in 9:16, 16:9, or original aspect ratios. With the enhanced engine, only extracted audio is sent to the server, while the video file stays entirely on your computer.
A speech recognition engine transcribes your audio and returns every word with exact start and end timestamps. These words are assembled into subtitle blocks that you can edit, style, and export as SRT, VTT, or a burned-in MP4 video.
Yes. Clicking a subtitle block opens its text, and clicking an individual word lets you adjust its timing and styling. Words flagged with lower confidence are highlighted so you know where to check first.
Yes, both Hebrew and English are supported. For Hebrew, the enhanced engine is recommended. If using the in-browser engine, choose the accurate Hebrew model, which requires a one-time download of around 600MB, as the fast model has higher error rates.
When using the enhanced engine, only the audio track is extracted inside your browser, compressed, and sent for transcription. The video itself never leaves your computer. When using the free in-browser engine, nothing is sent anywhere.
Files can be up to 40MB. The enhanced engine transcribes up to around 20 minutes per file. Once paid plans launch, it will include a monthly minute quota, and users who exceed it will automatically fall back to the in-browser engine.
It takes roughly the duration of the video, as the video is played and re-recorded frame by frame with subtitles included. In browsers that cannot record MP4 directly, an additional conversion step runs at the end.
Klix could not load
Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
