Extract frames at 0.1 to 60 FPS in PNG, JPG, or WebP
Extract frames from a video with full control. You can set any rate from 0.1 to 60 frames per second, exact width and height, and choose PNG, JPG, or WebP format with quality control. Each file name includes a timestamp so you know exactly where the image was taken, and you can also generate a GIF from the same video without an extra tool. This is useful for grabbing a precise thumbnail, extracting stills from an event video, or building a sequence for motion analysis. Everything runs in your browser and the video is not uploaded to any server.
MP4, WebM, MOV, and most common formats, including files straight from your phone. If a file is rejected, try converting it first in the video conversion tool.
On the first use, a video processing engine of about 31MB is downloaded and cached for next time. After that, the speed depends mainly on the video length and your requested frame rate.
For a single image or two, 0.5 frames per second is enough, meaning one frame every two seconds. A high rate on a long video generates hundreds of files and takes a long time, so it is best to start low.
PNG saves every pixel without loss and is the heaviest. JPG is much lighter and fits well when the images are for a website or sharing. WebP is a good compromise between the two.
Klix could not load
Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
