Is your mic working? A visual test before your meeting
A visual microphone test before a meeting on Zoom, Meet, or Teams. Click to start the test, allow access, and speak. 32 sound wave bars and a volume meter react in real time, and when the tool picks up clear sound, the screen turns green with a message that the microphone is working. If multiple microphones are connected, like headphones and a webcam, you can switch between them and test each one separately. The test does not record or play the sound back to you, and the audio never leaves your browser.
No. The sound is analyzed in real time in your browser, and nothing is recorded or sent to a server.
The tool checks if the microphone is picking up sound, not the audio quality, so it does not play the sound back. To test quality, record a short voice message and listen to it.
Your browser blocked access. Click the icon next to the website address, allow microphone access, and refresh the page.
The list of microphones appears after the first test starts, and only when more than one microphone is connected. Choose from the list and click start test again.
A different device is probably selected in Zoom. Check the meeting's audio settings to make sure the same microphone that worked here is selected.
Klix could not load
Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
