Remove AC hum and static noise from audio recordings
A recording with background noise goes in, like an AC, fan, or electrical hum, and a cleaner file comes out for listening and transcription. Choose one of three cleaning strengths, gentle, medium, or aggressive, and get a 192kbps MP3 with a player to test before downloading. The tool also accepts video and extracts only the clean audio track. Useful for a lecture recording, a home podcast, a Zoom call, or a voice message before passing it on. The processing runs in your browser and the recording never leaves your computer, up to 40 MB per file. A first-time audio engine download of about 31MB is required.
Constant noises: AC, fan, electrical hum, and static hiss. The tool is less effective against sudden noises like honking, barking, or a door slamming.
Start with medium, which is marked as recommended. If the noise is still audible, switch to aggressive, and if the voice sounds too processed, go back to gentle.
Strong cleaning also removes some of the voice itself, which sounds like a metallic or watery tone. A lower strength leaves a bit of noise but a natural voice.
An MP3 file of the clean audio track, without the video. To put the audio back into the video, you need to reassemble it in editing software.
No. All processing is done in your browser, so you can safely clean a private conversation or a meeting recording here.

Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
