Listen to text instead of reading it
Read text aloud with your choice of voice, speed, and pitch, using the speech engine built into your browser and operating system. Paste your text, choose a voice from the list (Hebrew voices appear first), set the speed between 0.5x and 2x, and click to read. This is useful for proofreading by ear, studying, accessibility, and listening to an article while you work. The available voices depend on your device and browser, so the list varies between computers. The text is not sent to Klix servers, and the audio is not saved as a file.
It depends on your device. If there is no Hebrew voice, the tool shows a warning and the text will be read with a foreign accent. In Windows, you can add a Hebrew voice in settings, under time and language, then speech.
No. The browser's speech engine plays the audio in real time and does not generate an audio file.
Every browser and operating system comes with its own voices. If you do not like the Hebrew voice, try a different browser on the same computer.
Not to our servers. The reading is done by the browser's speech engine, but some browsers use online voices that process the text on the browser manufacturer's side.
Yes, during playback the button turns into a stop button. There is no pause and resume, and the next time you click, the reading will start from the beginning.
Klix could not load
Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
