URL shortener

Turn a long link into a short one that is easy to share

Turn a long link into a short, clean URL for sharing on WhatsApp, social media, and documents, complete with a click counter for each link. The shortened link is created on the Klix server. The original address is saved there alongside a short six-character code, and every visit to the short link is counted and redirected to the destination. The links do not have an expiration date. A list of up to your last 50 created links is saved in the browser where you made them, which is also where the click count is displayed. The tool requires a full address starting with http or https, so you should copy it directly from the address bar.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the link stay active?

The links do not have an expiration date. They will continue to redirect to the destination without you needing to renew them.

Can I see how many people clicked?

Yes. The number of visits is displayed next to each link, and it updates every time you open the tool. The counter is shown in the browser where the link was created, because that is where the list is saved.

What is sent to the server?

The long address and the short code generated for it. Without this, the link cannot work, because anyone clicking it needs a server to redirect them to the destination.

Why is my link not shortening?

The tool requires a full address starting with http:// or https://. An address like example.com without the prefix will be rejected, and you just need to add https:// at the beginning.

Can I change the destination after the link is created?

No. There is no option to edit the destination here. You will need to create a new short link for a new address.

My list of links disappeared, do they still work?

Yes. The list is only saved in your browser, so clearing your browsing data or switching to another device will show an empty list. The links themselves will keep redirecting, but you will no longer see their click counters.
