One image into all sizes, plus the code to paste
A favicon is the small icon in the browser tab. Websites built with AI almost always keep the generic icon, which immediately gives away that the site is incomplete. Upload a logo or image, even a HEIC from an iPhone, and the tool cuts a square from the center to generate six PNG files: 16, 32, and 48 pixels for the browser, 180 for the iPhone home screen, and 192 and 512 for Android. Everything downloads in one ZIP file, along with a site.webmanifest file, instructions in English, and four lines of code to paste into the head section. The image is processed in the browser and is not sent to the server.
A square, simple, and clear image. A 16-pixel icon is very small, so a logo with many details will turn into a blur.
To the root folder of the website (usually public). If you are working with AI, paste the code to it and ask it to add it.
The tool cuts the largest square from the center of the image, so the edges of a wide logo will be cropped. If the logo has a long name, it is better to upload just the symbol or the first letter.
No. The package includes PNG files and code that points to them, which is what modern browsers read. Anyone who needs an ICO file for an old browser can separately convert the 32-pixel file.
Browsers keep icons in their cache for a long time. Open the website in an incognito window, and check that the files are sitting in the root folder and not in a subfolder.
Klix could not load
Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
