Clean DOCX to MD conversion to save AI credits
Turn your Word document into a clean, readable Markdown file. This matters when feeding documents to Claude or ChatGPT because an MD file uses far fewer tokens than the original document, directly saving you credits. The tool accepts DOCX and HTML files, converts headings to # symbols, keeps bold text, lists, and links, and drops fonts, colors, and formatting that the model does not need anyway. Finally, it shows the character count and lets you copy the text or download an .md file. The entire conversion happens in your browser, and the document is never sent to any server.
MD files are clean text without unnecessary formatting, so they consume fewer tokens. The same content costs fewer credits, leaving more room in the context window for your actual prompt.
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser.
Not directly. The tool only accepts DOCX and HTML. Open your DOC file in Word, save it as a DOCX, and upload that.
They were probably just styled with a large, bold font instead of an actual Word heading style. Only text formatted as Heading 1, Heading 2, and so on becomes a Markdown heading. Apply the proper style in Word and convert again.
Headings, bold text, lists, and links are kept. Fonts, colors, text size, and page layout are removed, which is exactly what saves tokens.
Klix could not load
Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
