Extract Hebrew and English text from images or scans
Upload an image or screenshot and get the text out, including Hebrew, ready to copy or download as a TXT file. The engine recognizes Hebrew and English in the same image, and you can edit the result in the text box before copying. This saves you from retyping text from a photographed document, a screenshot of a message, a sign, or a brochure. The OCR engine runs entirely in your browser, so sensitive documents never leave your computer. A first-time engine download of about 15MB is required, and subsequent recognitions will start faster.
For clear images with printed text, the accuracy is very high. Handwriting, Hebrew vowel points, decorative fonts, and blurry photos reduce accuracy, so you should review the result.
This tool works on images only. Klix has a separate Text from PDF tool, or you can take a screenshot of the page and upload it here.
A straight photo rather than an angled one, even lighting, and text that fills most of the image. Cropping the image to just the text area, without surrounding pictures or margins, improves the result more than anything else.
Hebrew and English, even together in the same image. Other languages are not recognized properly here.
No. The recognition is done in your browser. The only thing downloaded from the network the first time are the engine's language files, and the image itself is never sent.
Klix could not load
Try reloading the page first. If a new version just went out, a reload fixes it straight away.
If reloading did not help, your browser may be too old. Klix runs the tools on your own device rather than on a server, so it needs a browser from 2022 or later. What to do: update Chrome or Firefox, then open klixtools.com again.
